* Ask questions. It’s the simplest, easiest, and most effective tool of engagement.
* Host a contest.
* Invite customers to share photos of them using your product or service and post them on either your website, blog, or Facebook page.

* Post a poll on your Facebook page.
* Create a Pinterest profile with community boards that allow your audience to share their pins.
* Create an informal advisory board of your best Twitter followers, Facebook fans, and blog friends.
* Respond to their tweets, Facebook comments, blog comments.
* Reward loyal customers with social media shoot-outs and surprise gifts.
* Host an industry TweetUp. Taking the online relationship with customers offline is an important piece to the social media puzzle.
